Introduction Observed 10 days after Ganesh Chaturthi, this Vrat is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Devotees tie a sacred thread (Anant Sutra) with 14 knots on their arm.

The Story (Vrat Katha) A woman named Sushila found a sacred thread (Anant Sutra) and tied it on her arm after praying to Lord Anant. As a result, her husband, Kaundinya, became very wealthy.

However, Kaundinya became arrogant. One day, he saw the thread on Sushila’s arm and asked, “Is this some magic charm to control me?” Despite her explanation, he tore the thread and threw it into the fire.

This insulted Lord Anant. Instantly, Kaundinya lost all his wealth and became a beggar. He realized his mistake and went into the forest to find Lord Anant. He asked trees and animals, but no one knew him. Finally, he collapsed.

Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of an old Brahmin, saved him, and told him to observe the Anant Vrat for 14 years to regain his lost glory.

Conclusion The story teaches us to respect sacred symbols and that arrogance destroys wealth, while devotion restores it.
